STEP 1: PHONE CONSULTATION
Our poison ivy remediation process begins with an initial phone consultation. During this call, we gather essential details about the issues you're facing and your specific needs. Following this, we arrange a property inspection with one of our certified technicians.
STEP 2: INSPECTION
During the inspection, we walk through your property with you, providing an educational session on identifying poison ivy and pointing out all the affected areas.
STEP 3: TREATMENT
Next, we initiate our treatment program. This includes the initial inspection, the application of a selective herbicide to the identified areas, and a follow-up treatment 10-14 days after the initial application. Weather permitting, the herbicide application is carried out on the same day as the inspection.
STEP 4: Follow Up
The follow-up treatment is critical to ensure complete eradication of the actively growing poison ivy. From that point, we can either leave the treated areas as they are or proceed with manual removal of the plants. It's important to note that while we can eliminate the existing poison ivy, we cannot prevent new growth from seed germination. Given that poison ivy is native to Michigan and serves as a winter food source for birds, we recommend a yearly maintenance program to keep the issue under control and prevent future infestations.
